German term
Maschinensatz
German to English
Law/Patents

Normally "mechanical typesetting," but I'm a bit confused by the circumstances where I found it. It's a legal document (patent suit), and appears to be a citation: "(BGH, GRUR 2011, 908 – Maschinensatz)". What is the best translation for Maschinensatz in that context?

Machine unit, machine set
This is probably just referring to the set of components comprising the machine in question. Both Linguee.com and leo.org offer numerous options, and mechanical typesetting is just one of those. I just spoke to a German engineering student, and he was unfamiliar with the term, so it clearly isn't in common usage outside of patent-related texts.
