Thank you Mohamed. It certainly is. My point is I never read or heard them locally refer to 'infrastructure constructions' as 'technical' in 'English'. The Arabic term used here is most probably an inclusive denotation of such structures, 'IF'.

: Yes, the department's name is adapted from the French for sure, and is by no means the direct فنية as in 'technical'. I'd suggest 'Department of Water Civil Structures and Research' to keep the domain clear.

If the department is concerned only with water-related infrastructure, it refers to HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES /H. WORKS, as a class of specialised structures, Department of Research & Hydraulic structures, I do agree with your attempt to be accurate, thank you
