German term

Abfrage / abfragen

German to English Bus/Financial Education / Pedagogy sales training
I'm translating the trainer's instructions for a sales training program. As part of the training, participants often work in small groups, and then the trainer asks them how it went and what conclusions they've reached. Examples from the text:

Kurze Abfrage: Wo gab’s Teams, wo die Punkte ziemlich ähnlich waren?
Abfrage durch Trainer
abfragen/präsentieren lassen
Wer hat schon eine Idee? Kurz abfragen.
Der Reihe nach abfragen.
etc.

Discussion

Horst Huber (X) Nov 5, 2013:
I would try out "query" and "survey", both usable as verbs and nouns. Maybe also "question"?

question and answer session/ask questions

You should vary the translation if these terms come up a lot, but here are my suggestions for your five examples:

Brief question and answer/feedback session
Questions by trainer
Ask questions
Ask brief questions
Ask in order

You could also say "questions and answers" for "Abfrage".
