Thanks so much for the information -- mostly I was looking for a term with some backing in the literature and in contracts, so that is why I chose "multi" here. In other contexts I would probably opt for something along the lines of what you suggested. Really appreciated. -- Chris

To the asker it might be correct to use "multi-year" in your context but please be reminded you have to be careful when you see it in other contexts. Literally your Chinese phrase involves no more than 2 years, so it is not "multiple".
