Asker: Thanks for your input Carole! That makes sense but I'm not sure it quite fits with this particular form. Earlier in the form the psychiatrist responded to questions about the patient's behaviour, but this section is for observations. The phrase "pacientes *en* PTAB" gave me the impression that it might be referring to some sort of in-patient or out-patient treatment plan or group, rather than to a disorder.

neutral  Joseph Tein: Doesn't really look to me (having worked in the mental health field for years) like a standard term; you usually wouldn't find "psychiatric" in front of Bipolar Affective Disorder because it's understood, it's obvious that it's "psychiatric"

  -> I agree that "psychiatric" seems superfluous, but sometimes MD's modify terms to suit themselves. At first I thought "P" might mean "Patient with" but decided against it.

"Pacientes en PTAB" seems to indicate that they are on treatment or therapy, as you mention in your note to Carole.

If TAB is trastorno afectivo bipolar, then the standard abbreviation in English would simply be BD (bipolar disorder).

The options listed below the term don't really help because they are general tick-off options and may not apply at all.
