I want to describe a picture that shows some antique furniture and some women wearing dresses from that time (1900). Can you say "antique dresses/costumes/clothing" ? they seem to be fashionable for that time.
And when I describe the pieces of furniture is it better to say "period furniture"?

Period clothing / Period dress

I would say "antique furniture" and "period clothing". In my experience "antique" is usually associated with objects, whereas "period" is associated with living style, clothing and other more person-related issues or abstract descriptions.

Edwardian Clothing

"Edwardian" clothing would be an appropriate choice for early 1900s clothes.

"Period" or "antique furnishings / furniture or household goods would be accurate descriptions of items from that time.

Thank you, Václav.
agree B D Finch : But only if it relates to Britain, for both readership and picture.//Thanks for the info. I admit to finding it surprising.

Thank you, Barbara. The same verbiage is used for such items in the USA. The fashion trends of the time didn't have another name; Edwardian it was. / We didn't come into our own distinct styles until the roaring 20's! Flappers and zoot suits!
agree Yvonne Gallagher : yes, this came up in a question before I think? No time to look...Edwardian Dress might be better than "clothing"

clothing and furniture, circa 1900

The options that you have suggested, "antique dresses/costumes/clothing" "period furniture" are correct in a way, but I would not use them.
Let us make it more flowing and classy.
If it is one picture with clothing and furniture, you may use my suggestion.

Another classy option could be:

ensemble and furnishings, circa 1900

(basically depends on the type of reader; if it is for a high-class brochure, I would go for this one).

antique clothing

At first, I was going to suggest "vintage" clothing, but when I searched on-line for the definition, I found many sites offering a distinction between antique and vintage as follows:

Antique: Clothing that is at least 100 years old.

Vintage: Clothing between 20 and 100 years old which is clearly representative of the era in which it was produced.

vintage clothing

While this does not nail it down to a specific period, in the USA, 'vintage clothing' stores abound. They might have stuff from the 60s, 40s and 30s, but it is all older than what you would find in a "thrift store" like Goodwill.

agree Tina Vonhof (X) : In the US and Canada for sure.
