A Due Diligence is an examination prior to an acquisition of an enterprise. Therefore you could call the due diligence report "Prüfungsbericht", of course, but "Prüfungsbericht" is too general.

... it would be better to use a "true German" translation, but comments like that last one posted to the winning answer are anything but constructive. After all, it is not a wrong answer; simply yet another viable option. Outrage like that should be reserved to answers that are blatantly wrong (e.g., if someone not qualified for that particular language pair posts misleading and confusing answers that don't really help the asker and even add to the asker's original confusion as to the right and proper translation).
But in line with French language policies, I must agree that we should all try to find "German" solutions and uphold the integrity of the German language (hey, if it helps the French language, it can't be all that wrong for German and other languages).
You should definitely use both terms in your translation (e.g., "...ein Prüfungsbericht oder "Due Diligence"-Bericht ...."), and then use "Prüfungsbericht" if that term pops up again in your document.

Gute Anmerkung, Werner. Wie gesagt, ist Prüfungsbericht vollkommen in Ordnung, aber nun einmal ein Oberbegriff (auch ein audit report ist ein Prüfungsbericht usw.)
Für Due Diligence existiert nun einmal keine deutsche Übersetzung und der englische Begriff wird ständig in der Wirtschaft verwendet. Daher kann es nicht Aufgabe eines Übersetzers sein, neue und ungebräuchliche Wortgebilde zu schaffen, die niemand mehr versteht ("Sorgfältige Prüfung im Vorfeld eines Unternehmenskaufs"???).
Blödes Rumlabern ist daher wohl eher etwas für den Verfasser der Bewertungen. Der Ausbruch gegenüber Vesna sollte eigentlich schon genügen, um jemanden von der Site auszuschließen.
