English to Chinese Other Law (general)
Requiring the state not to enact such laws, and bringing the offending measures by the state under the wing of antitrust (if only to void or disapply the measures) is a wise option.

jyuan_us May 15, 2014:
4 major errors found in the picked answer 1. bringing 2. offending 3. measures 4. under the wing of antitrust. The translation of these words/expressions means totally different to what they mean in the source text, not even close.
jyuan_us May 15, 2014:
Therefore, it is an incorrectly picked answer and a wrong glossary entry.
David Lin May 15, 2014:

measures = an official action that is done in order to achieve a particular aim

The government is introducing tougher measures to combat crime

austerity/security measures = 紧缩/保安措施

offending = guilty of a crime = 有罪/违法的

@jyuan: To be fair to Mi, I don't think it is not unprofessional for Askers to bring up a machine translation in Kudoz when asking for help. At least Mi has tried her best. To use machine translation is the last option and even so she was in doubt of the reliability of the machine answer and put the question forward in Kudoz.

On the other hand if we Answers were to provide a machine translation without manually scrutinized its suitability to the source text, we would be at fault and become irresponsible.
jyuan_us May 13, 2014:
Agree with Jarv Also, we are trying to be asker-friendly but both parties should have at least a minimum degree of professionalism. A general impression is that the temporary translations you provided for us to verify or as a context tend to be no better than something translated by a machine (if not worse, to say the least). Isn't this a mechanic conversion of words that has made most of the major points senseless?
jarv95888 May 13, 2014:
Be careful of what you translate Hi,Mi.
"bring A under the wing of B" 是指让B受到A的保护。
the offending measures by the state 若还原成the offending measures (MADE) by the state 较容易了解。
Again, this is only my humble understanding of the text for your reconsideration of your translation.

理解得差不多,但是其中 bringing the offending measures by the state under the wing of antitrust 应该是:

(the point is "bring...under the wing")

Hope the following may help:

FYI
