Arabic term

Arabic word "khawarerem"

Arabic to English Other Other
My apologies. I have closed the question I just posted by mistake.

I have an Arabic word "khawarerem" in one of the articles on Arabian history. It appears in a context in which the author refers to tanning industry. Does anyone know what it means?

"All their industry is in the tanning of skins, using that heavy high quality skins for which they are famous and which is suitable for khawarerem."

Thank you for your reply, Samaa! Yeah, water ducts don't make any sense. I am going to ask my client about it.
Samaa Zeitoun Sep 22, 2014:
Hi Shiho, it's not a familiar word. Perhaps there's a typo or it's a word of Persian origin. The closest sounding word I can think of is khawarir which is some type of water ducts, but I don't see how that relates to the tanning of skins.
Shiho Fukuda Koski (asker) Sep 22, 2014:
P.S. I cannot read Arabic. This original text is in English and should be translated to Japanese. It would be great if someone could explain what this term means in English. Thank you.

There was a spelling mistake. the correct name is khawarezem not khawarerem. khawarezem is a large oasis region in western Central Asia, bordered on the north by the (former) Aral Sea. It is one of the greatest centers of Islamic civilization in Central Asia. It was was famous with leather tanning
