"well-fixed" seems to be a very often used term in medicine, in relation to prostheses. The whole sentence:
"Examination of human biopsies from well-fixed prostheses showed that alumina particles deposits increase with time with only a low-grade macrophagic reaction."
I thought it could refer to the "acceptability" of the prostheses by body, but I haven't found enough evidence to support this idea.

Este es el termino que se utiliza en odontologia para las prótesis. En mi diccionario aparece para "well-fixed" tambien "acomodado" pero "prótesis acomodada" no me suena demasiado.
