Venous / Arterial PORT For dialysis applications, I've only heard of venous and arterial ports. In this instance, chronic dialysis catheters, normally inserted in the chest or neck areas, have an opening (arterial port) for blood flow out of the body and another opening (venous port) for blood return after it flows through the dialysis machine. Never heard of venous or arterial pots and their functions.

Role of venous pot I guess that these pots are designed not only to trap the air bubble, but also for other purposes, such as monitoring the blood pressure in vein and liquid level in pot.

device to prevent air in the tube Could it be something like a "bubble trap", a device to prevent air in the blood tube? I have a picture on the document, and it shows that these two devices are connected with a blood pressure gauge.
