"I just got a list of disconnected words in a Excel list. They didn't send me the film."

And they seriously expect that subtitles will make any sense once attached to the film???

These people - and all the chain of intermediaries "language experts" involved - are in serious need of "education" / learning the basics of their own business!

Murderer/killer for sure... but what/who is being murdered...? What kind of back story is this film using?! Sounds quite hardcore really.
Gad Kohenov (asker) May 28, 2015:
There is meurtrier So this was supposed to be meurtrière (s) murderer is the translation for the masculin.
Tony M May 28, 2015:

French term (edited): meurtrier

wicked!

if they expect from you to do the subtitling without seeing the movie, they can't complain if you let loose you imagination and assume whatever you fancy assuming!

So: at some point some character says: "meurtrier" meaning "c'est meurtrier!" admiring whatever is shown on the screen

you can as well imaging/assume some other intonation of the voice:

"that's murder" / "that's murderous" / "you are a murderer" / ...

whatever variation you fancy - why should you take the business of translating more seriously than these people?

Full sentence definitely required... is it in a sentence one might lovingly use the phrase "defonceur de qqchose" for example? (really not sure this is doing my online reputation any good...)

agree Daryo : or rather the script of the movie - so that we have some idea of the kind of non-verbal communication going on in the movie ...
