Legal Terminology in Iraq
I'm trying to look up the Arabic/Iraqi-specific equivalents for about 30 English (US) legal terms, and about 25 Arabic/Iraqi-specific terms into English. I am familiar with the US legal system terminologies and know most of the equivalents in Standard Arabic. There is so much to the Iraqi legal system that it is difficult to find the right words. I can come up with equivalents but I am afraid they may not be what is actually used officially in there.
Does anyone know where I can find bilingual Iraq legal resources online? Is there any out there in the first place?

Arabic (MSA) legal glossaries are available (most are printed hard copy publications, versus online format).
The searchable bilingual website at < www.almaany.com > might be useful, as least for MSA equivalent terms.
No Iraq-specific references are apparent, to my best knowledge.
Some of my Iraqi-American bilingual friends here in California have mentioned that the Iraqi justice/legal system (and many associated legal lexicon items) was heavily influenced by the old British model, including a number of comparatively-complex or convoluted terms adopted or adapted from (ahem) "British Legal English."
