Muchas gracias a todos por vuestras respuestas :)
Taña Dalglish Oct 2, 2015:
@ Patricia No, nothing for you to apologize for. I insist!
Sure thing, Patricia! Let us see what others say. Un abrazo.
Patricia Patho (asker) Oct 2, 2015:
Dear Taña, I really appreciate your help und you didn't cause any contention, it was just a misunderstanding; we can't always figure out the tone meant on a text ;) I apologize too.
About the term, let's see what other people say. Thanks again! :)
Taña Dalglish Oct 2, 2015:
Hi Patricia/Kirsten: Please guys, I started this but again I apologize for a careless remark re Google! Kirsten, thank you so much for your kind remarks. But let us leave this alone (it was irresponsible of me to even mention Googling), as Patricia has a legitimate reason to post her doubt! Please, Patricia, I've posted my proposal, and it is now up to you to decide whether it is suitable or not. I reiterate, my only purpose is to help where needed, and not to cause any contention. I take full responsibility for my careless reference to Googling! I do! Regards y abrazos - Kirsten/Patricia.

@Patricia
OK.:-) En fin, deja a ver si a lo largo del día de hoy se encuentra la traducción que necesitamos. A veces cuesta.

@Kirsten

@ Patricia Sorry! I seem to have offended. I'll remove the reference to Google. Saludos.
Patricia Patho (asker) Oct 2, 2015:
Dear Taña,
Yes, googling is very easy, to find the exact term isn't always. Thanks anyways,

@ Patricia wood splitting maul | WordReference Forums
http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/wood-splitting-maul.2...
A wood splitting maul is used for splitting sections of wood, typically 30 cm or so in length, into smaller pieces that will fit into a wood-burning stove, fireplace, or outdoor fire. It has a "cuña" or wedge-shaped head (adze) that differs from an axe-head in that it promotes splitting of a cut piece of wood, rather than for "chopping" use, and may have a flat edge which can be hit with another hammer (sledge hammer or similar) to further split the wood block.
O sea, **la maza-hacha o maza-cuña dispone de una cara plana para el golpe y una parte cortante para astillar piezas de madera. At least in some countries this maul is called a "maza-cuña."**
