French term

usages contraignants

French to English Other Government / Politics Town planning
Suggested by-law changes to facilitate the redevelopment of a village in Quebec:

• Modifier les normes de zonage pour astreindre les propriétaires de commerces entraînant des nuisances à installer une clôture et des végétaux opaques entre leur commerce et les résidences limitrophes;

Thanks very much.

Discussion

Daryo Nov 8, 2015:
as far as I can remember when it comes to planning, the term used is also "use" or "uses" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planning_use_classes_in_Englan... the real problem is "... contraignants"; it seems to mean that the use made of one zone creates limits as to what you can do in the neighbouring zone;

disagree Daryo : and the dictionary will also clarify who or what is being restricted and who or what is doing the restricting?

agree philgoddard : I don't think this is a perfect answer, but I also think Daryo is far too liberal with his disagrees. So here's an agree :-)

Thank you, philgoddard. Yes, Daryo has a "proven track record" of placing a "disagree" on my offerings to the askers about 7/8 of the time, which is certainly statistically impossible. So obvious.

5.6.3 OBJECTIF 7.3
