O que é corrida imperialista?
O termo "corrida imperialista" foi criado por alguns analistas para identificar a disputa, entre alguns países ricos, pela dominação de outras áreas do mundo, especialmente aquelas regiões que apresentam alguma vantagem para o capitalismo internacional, tais como: mão de obra barata, mercado consumidor latente, recursos naturais abundantes etc.

Imperialist expansion was, on the other hand, more like a race to seize control over whole (often huge) areas, even when there was no prospect of any immediate economic benefits for the conquerors (as was the case in many of the areas taken over in Africa in the late 19th century).
