financial report, market indicators
I am translating a monthly report power point about market indicators around petroleum, natural gas and the imports and exports of natural as in Spain and so on.
The heading of slide 3 is "Continúa la reducción del contango en ambos mercados, más pronunciado en Nymex". Contando sounds very strange to me and difficult to find a logical menaing. Previous slide is "Aumentan el precio de los crudos" and the fourh is "Aumentan por segundo mes consecutivo las previsiones para el Brent".
Could you help me here please? thank you!

This is from last month:
The increase in front-month prices contributed to a **reduction in the contango** (when near-term futures prices are less than longer-dated ones) for Brent and WTI."
