English term

adverbial time clause

English to French Other Education / Pedagogy
I'm translating some English grammar explanations into French (for my sins) and, not having learnt French in France, am unsure how this expression is best to be rendered. In fact, the grammar point is all about reducing time clauses.

Thank you! They've given me two examples: "When you are trying to save money, (do you change your shopping habit?)" and "(I always wash food containers) before I put them in the recycling bin." Do those fit?

agree Didier Fourcot : often "circonstancielle de temps" in short: http://www.lelivrescolaire.fr/#!manuel/38/francais-4e/chapit...

adverbe de fréquence

A mon avis ce terme devrait couvrir toute question/réponse s'agissant de périodicité.

It's English made simple and the term covers adverbial phrases like 'every day' 'very often' etc. but perhaps the French prefer more intimidating titles (!)

neutral FX Fraipont (X) : no - that's one word , not a clause. "often" would be one.
