But your Q is 'square' ?
What exactly are you asking?
V&E-Team (asker) Jul 25, 2016:
here are sentences with correctly/centered - Foot not positioned correctly in the V-support.
- The tibial spines should be centered within the femoral notch.
- Target anatomy not centered
Cilian O'Tuama Jul 25, 2016:
The meaning IS 'correctly positioned'. We just need to establish which exact position is correct. :-)

Or is there other text between the two sentences you provided as context?
V&E-Team (asker) Jul 25, 2016:
. The meaning is not -centered or -correctly positioned. Both of them appears separately.

in alignment or flush

In this context, square means in alignment or flush as in the following usage:

Put the paper square with the edge of the desk.
windows flush with the wall

Therefore, in the first sentence, the hips are no in alignment with the vertical wall of abc**™ device, so technologist should gently guide the hips forward by placing their hand on the small of the subjects back to make the hips align to the vertical wall.

Thank you very much!
neutral Cilian O'Tuama : 'flush' means forming a smooth continuous surface, and 'in alignment' is very ambiguous. You need to say what kind of alignment. Parallel? Perpendicular? Staggered...

parallel/equidistant

The line through the hips should be parallel to the (plane of the) wall, and probably horizontal too.
Both hips should be equidistant from the wall.
