French term

claveau

Non-PRO French to English Art/Literary Architecture Social & cultural anthrop
This is the text of an audio tour of a French heritage site (an old Abbey / Cathedral).
The closest thing that comes to my mind is "cap", but does anyone know if there is a more architectural term for this in English?
Thank you :-)

Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : Not keystone (which is called clé), but an archstone or archbrick, usually called a voussoir in both French and English.
