history text on the Costa Brava
Hi everyone! I'm translating a text on the history of towns along the Costa Brava. This part is talking about parties and events held in S'Agaró, and I can't seem to find what 'paiames' means. It's possible that it's a Catalan word. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
En las terrazas del restaurante de la playa un día se organizaba una exhibición de ***«paiames*** con modelos vivientes a cargo de la casa Rodríguez de Barcelona», y otro día una cena «al estilo de los marineros de nuestra Costa Brava, junto al mar, con el atuendo propio de los marineros no solo los que servirán la cena sino que también los asistentes.

All the references I can find are from the 1930s and are in Catalan. The word seems to go with trajes de baño, so seems to be beach wear.
The references are from old newspapers and they talk about beach fashion in the 1930s.
