Russian term

Самая играющая сборная

Russian to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
From a Kommersant article, talking about the large number of Ukrainian athletes at a sports facility in the Olympic Village. The author is somewhat "playfully-derisive" of the Ukrainian athletes in the article. Looking for something better than just "the most active team" - something that conveys the overall tone of the article.

Here is a bit more context:

I know the last question in this vein caused a bit of a political stir - this is not my intent - but I need to get tone right and would love the help of my colleagues on this. TIA

Denis Shepelev Feb 22, 2017:
The most active national team on the football field and in the game room. Or maybe just in the game room. Have p(f)un?
El oso Feb 22, 2017:
There isn't one.
Mikhail Kropotov Feb 22, 2017:
Where is the pun, Denis?
Denis Shepelev Feb 22, 2017:
The most active team Я считаю, что Ваш вариант отличный. И игра слов сохраняется, и "игривый" тон статьи.

A team that never stops playing

It's a shame they aren't Georgian. Then they would be The Dream Team :-)

Hi Allison, yes, I think you are right.
Note from asker:
I like this - what do you think about this slight modification? A team that never stops playing around, it turns out.

May be, 'the most active' would be the best (choice or 'translation option'.

Thank you, Oleg. This is helpful :)
Peer comment(s):

neutral Mikhail Kropotov : Nice string of suggestion options for играющая, but kind of short. Why don't you admit that you don't have the slightest insight into what the source really is trying to say?

True fans of the game, they are.

If you want to convey the double meaning of играть (to play a sport vs. to play (video) games), then you need to have either "play" or "game" in this phrase.

The most active squad

I suppose that we can say "squad", since it is often used in reference to sports competitions. I prefer it to "team" anyway.
