Richiedente: Gracias Mónica. Encontré este mismo artículo pero no hay muchas más referencias en Internet en este sentido por lo que no estoy segura de si es pertinente utilizar el anglicismo. Quizás haya términos acuñados en español para referirse a estos conceptos. ¡Saludos!

Typically, first-party agencies try to collect debts for several months before passing it to a third-party agency or selling the debt and writing off most of its value (Wikipedia)

Entiendo que los conceptos son iguales, pero pueden haber mejores propuestas de traducción: Cobro en nombre de la empresa (first party)= cobro directo, cobro por agencia de cobro (third party) = cobro por terceros?

Es terminología de USA, y aca se explica:
1st Party Collections
Lets say my mortgage is with The Bank of Suburban Dollar. Suburban Dollar is reviewing their books and discover that I’m a month behind on my mortgage. They pick up the phone and call me to see what’s happening. The bank representative making the phone call is a direct employee of the bank and therefore a 1st party collector. When asked, they should say they work “with” rather than “on behalf of.” They are not a proxy of the bank, they are the bank.

3rd Party Collections
Same scenario, slightly different circumstances. I am still a month behind but the bank decides they don’t have the funds or the resources to pursue me. Instead, they opt to hire the Bargaineering Busters Collection Agency to do their dirty work. Jim calls me up one day and says “Hey Kyle, this is Jim with Bargaineering Busters Collection Agency calling on behalf of a debt you owe to the Bank of Suburban Dollar.” Jim is acting “on behalf of” the bank but does not work for the bank. Jim is a 3rd party in this debt saga, that makes him a 3rd party collector.

Richiedente: Hola Patinba. En este caso, los conceptos no se corresponden con indicado en Wikipedia. "first party" es cuando la agencia de cobro llama al deudor en nombre de la empresa (que reclama el pago) y "third party" es cuando la agencia de cobro llama al deudor en su propio nombre (es decir como agencia de cobro). No se como poder expresar esta diferencia... ¡Saludos!

accordo Ana Myriam Garro: Para mí se corresponde con trad. y explic. de Patinba: cobro en nombre de la empresa (first party)= directo. Cobro x agencia (third party) = cobro x 3º (en el 1er caso, la agencia representa a la empresa, en el 2º el atraso amerita delegac. de gestión)
