: I would only replace the word “sinful” by something totally unreligious because the cornfield was in the *Soviet Union*. To be more exact, in Alma-Ata (now Almaty), the former capital city of Kazakhstan.

Спасибо большое за поддержку! Я полагаю, что "развратный" здесь означает "развращает (советских) людей" (в широком смысле этого слова). Поэтому "corrupting" будет точнее. Вместо "nursery" можно использовать вариант "breeding ground".

: It seems to me that “den” mostly applies to closed spaces (a house, a cave, etc.). P.S. I guess, the reader will grasp the meaning thanks to the context (the cornfield).

Слово «подпольный» можно выкинуть, поскольку в предыдущем предложении говорится о том, что «нужно было перевоплотиться в настоящего шпиона, и знать явки и пароли всех меломанов города». А слово «загнивающий» я выкинул потому, что «дикари, не поймут». :)

Если я правильно понял, в данном случае слово «развратная» можно трактовать как «подрывающая советские ценности», поэтому и перевел его как evil.
