Italian term

ha procurato danni patrimoniali e non

Italian to English Law/Patents Law (general) Legal letter
Any help with this would be appreciated - I don't normally translate legal texts. This has come up before on ProZ and the answer was given as patrimonial and non-patrimonial damages. Is there a less literal term?

Many thanks (xxx is the client's name)

caused both special and general damages

Hi Sarah, I've researched this because I have the time at themoment and because I have come across it and never found a satisfactory answer in the time available (also it is law, while my thing is really finance).

Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damages
Compensatory damages are further categorized into special damages, which are economic losses such as loss of earnings, property damage and medical expenses, and general damages, which are noneconomic damages such as pain and suffering and emotional distress.
And also elsewhere

caused both material and non-material damages

I think "patrimoniale" is best translated as "material" here, meaning quantifiable in terms of value of objects damaged, in opposition to moral damages.
