French term

une prise de contraste nodulaire temporo-polaire gauche

French to English Medical Medical (general)
This is in the results of an MRI scan for a patient. I am a little unsure of how to translate this. Any help appreciated. I can see something similar has been asked in German, but I don't speak German!

Great example!

Yeah, look at this too:

Denise Pavao Mar 7, 2018:
True - it could be American vs British English, but it seems more likely that it's related to context - whether one is describing the technical aspect of tissue "taking up" a contrast medium vs describing an image where there is (the appearance of) "contrast enhancement," due to a tissue taking up contrast : )

Also, this may be an American versus British English thing:

hypervascular, or 'combined' vascular, areas with low contrast uptake are likely to be malignant. liz askew Mar 7, 2018:
Trouble is both "uptake" and "enhancement" exist and they are not synonyms.
Alison Wedley (asker) Mar 7, 2018:
It is an MRI of the brain
Denise Pavao Mar 7, 2018:
Regarding "contrast uptake":
I recently asked my niece about this (she has been an MRI tech for quite a few years now.) She said they don't use "contrast uptake", but rather "contrast enhancement." For example: pas de prise de contraste = no contrast enhancement

Hi,
MRI for which part of the body?
Thank you!
