Essentially this is saying the patient had trouble breathing because she/he was lying down. To put it in medicalese, you can try something like "hypoventilation induced by/caused by decubitus position" or something similar. I don't even think you need "pulmonary" because it's obvious ... hypoventilation doesn't happen in the kidneys or liver.

Lots of google hits for "pulmonary hypoventilation" ... for example " Respiratory functional tests detect pulmonary hypoventilation and diminished ventilatory response to hypoxia and hypercapnia [5]. ... "
