Italian term

ricettori orm.

Italian to English Medical Medical (general)
This is one of the options on a standard, pre-printed operating room report from the ASL Salerno. The form lists possible details of the procedure which should be checked or left unchecked as appropriate. My first thought was 'hormone receptors' but would this be indicated on a report?
Other options include;
Intervento:
Pulito/contaminato
Scopia
Macch. Recup. Sangue
Esame Istologico Estemp.
Proposed translations (English)

Hormone receptors Depending on the type of surgery (think about breast surgery), hormone receptors make perfect sense.

Oh, I see. Still, I would say hormone receptors is the correct translation, I can't really think of anything else "ricettori orm." could stand for.

Actually it wasn't a histopathological examination - this was just one of the options on the 'one size fits all' standard report form. No histopathological examination was in fact carried out in this case. It was actually a PTA procedure. If you type 'Macch. Recup. Sangue' into Google Advanced Search one of the first hits you get is a blank form which would, perhaps, better explain the context.

hormone receptors

It's definitely hormone recptors, as it is (from the info you gave) a histopathological examination. The link I posted should help as well.
