Spanish to English Bus/Financial Accounting International freight / delivery terms
SPAIN. This appears in a list of delivery terms; the fact that it appears in quotation marks makes me wonder if it is a set phrase meaning "halfway", or whether it should be translated literally. I have no idea where the goods are being delivered to or from, as I'm working from an alphabetical list with no useful context.

I don't know if this is relevant but I teach English in a transport company and I know that they do a Barcelona - Portugal - Barcelona route and they work with another company that picks up the lorry/gives it back in Zaragoza. They do the same on a route to Holland (doing the changeover somewhere in France). It works out quicker and cheaper because of the drivers' compulsory rest periods.

It states: Los cambios entre los INCOTERMS 2000 y los 2010 son notables y pueden agruparse en 4 principales:
Cuatro de las reglas (DDU, DEQ, DES, DAF) fueron eliminadas debido a confusiones. Para sustituirlas, se diseñaron dos nuevos INCOTERMS: DAT y DAP.

I don't think that it is too important, but perhaps a Translator's Note would be helpful to include "at the midway point/halfway" or words to that effect, but my understanding is that as it stands today, "DAF" is obsolete.

Literally "in the middle of the bridge"? When I read this the first thing I thought of was a road trip I took to Portugal last year. The border between Spain and Portugal was literally "in the middle of the bridge" we drove over, with overhead cameras registering your vehicle when you drive under them.
