The principal parameters in ship/channel interaction are beam/draft and length beam ratios, distance between the vessel centreplate sides and channel boundaries, an angle between the vessel's centreline plane and the line of the wall, vessel's speed and rate of turn, as well as the channel's width and depth, and channel wall slope.
