Electrical in a Spray Area:
Electrical, lighting, and heating within ten meters (30 feet) of the spray area should be of a type that would prevent flammables from igniting. Usually, this would involve the use of *explosion-proof fixtures* and appliances.
To meet the criteria for *explosion proof rating*, all enclosures must be able to contain any explosion originating within its housing and to prevent sparks within its housing from igniting vapors, gases, dust, or fibers in the air surrounding it.
All electrical wiring in the spray area should be *explosion-proof*. There should be no standard light switches or receptacles inside the booth area. Electrical wiring within three meters (ten feet) of the exterior of the booth should be of the same *explosion-proof* type.
