@ Asker Your parsing of the question term is rather confusing — the terms you have are really 'branches' and 'communicating with'

neutral Tony M : I don't believe this is quite the same thing: it doesn't say 'connected to', but rather 'communicating with', which I'd have thought would have been more something like 'en liaison avec...'? 'branches' here is a noun; the verb is 'communicates'
