Dear all,

Translating a data privacy statement on a company website into UK English.

I am aware that quite a few translated company websites use "offer" for Angebot in this context. However, some of them are from the German-speaking countries and I am looking for something more adequate, stylistically.

You know, I usually use services for Angebote in this website context, tend to be happy with that choice, but then, it is not an option here because Dienste are just that.

Sie können sich auf unserer Website registrieren, um zusätzliche Funktionen auf der Seite zu nutzen.
Die dazu eingegebenen Daten verwenden wir nur zum Zwecke der Nutzung des jeweiligen ***Angebotes*** oder Dienstes, für den Sie sich registriert haben.

I am not sure but judging by the context and from experience I think both terms might refer to website-related matters rather than what the company sells in the real world. The actual source text as a whole has not enabled me to make a clear assessment.

RE glossary Sebastian, you cannot use respective like this:
"used before a plural noun to refer to the different things that belong to each separate person or thing mentioned"

In fact, the meaning won't change if you delete it. The definite article is good enough.

(The same is true for "the purpose of"; "for using" would suffice.)

I just wanted to throw into the mix that Angebot could also variously be translated as range of products or services and Online (or Internet-) Angebot is website. Maybe "range of products or services"

Thank you, Johanna, for finding a proper link from England supportive of our original draft translation, which draft translation we had in the meantime disregarded, with no German original to such website. This might be one of the best options to choose from as there just is not anything else that flies that I or the folks over at TC can think of. Your take is also backed up by Linguee.

I have to add that I have not yet gotten used to the idea of referring to Angebote as features even though this is what might be behind the German, i.e. website features.

This would be my preference in this context. Angebot can refer to both a product and a service, which are offered via the Internet.

Actually I would probably change this to "offered products and services", even though the source is singular.

The answer may lie in the asker's own formulation of the question: '.... it is not an *option* here because Dienste are just that.'

Though a 'joker-word', Angebot (or spelt Anbot, often meaning a quotation in AT/CH German) doesn't seem to work well as an assortment or range here.

Example sentence:

As a member, we provide you with numerous tools to help you better understand all the trading options on offer
