English term

Honey

Non-PRO English to Danish Art/Literary General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Conversation
Hi! Can anyone give me a hand here? How can I say: "Come on, let's go back to bed, honey" in Danish? I am translating a short story from Spanish to English and there is a character from Denmark, but she has a line in English in the original text, so I need to translate it to Danish to point out the difference.

Thanks a lot!
Peer comment(s):

agree Jeppe Fischer : Agree. Alternatives exist but "skat" is most common in this context.

agree pcovs : Agree. And yes, lots of alternatives for 'honey' here, but 'skat' would probably be the most obvious one to use.

agree Christine Andersen : I'm not a native speaker, but my husband is. I think he would say' Kom, skat, lad os gå i seng ingen.' I often find myself changing the order of elements in Danish sentences when I translate into English.

typo... "igen", not "ingen". :-)
