Thank you all for confirming there is no direct translation. I sent the client some different choices to see what they prefer. I will close as 'no answers' to show that the Pt terms does not have a direct translation
Mark Robertson Jul 22, 2019:
@Richard De músico, poeta e louco todos nós temos um pouco!
Richard Purdom Jul 22, 2019:
qual poet, qual quê When the sky turns pink, plans for concerts go down the sink
when the sky turns pink, the gym just stinks.

Mark Robertson Jul 22, 2019:
@Douglas The answer to your question is that you don't. It's an untranslatable idiom. You have to find an equivalent idiom in English, if there is one. Your source text rhymes, so why not go with that?
Mark Robertson Jul 22, 2019:
When the sky is rosé the concert's passé.
When the sky is rosé, the gym's a cliché.

Douglas From what I could gather, I think it means "no way". Please refer to my answer and see it makes sense. You might want to get input from our Portuguese colleagues too.
Douglas Bissell (asker) Jul 21, 2019:
The question is how do you say 'qual (something) qual quê' in English

..., let it go.

Dizendo para deixar algo para lá. Fica bom também no ritmo, como em: "when skies are rose, school, let it go.

Isso porque não sei se "go away" que rimaria com a pronúncia de rosé ("when skies are rosé, school go away") ficaria rude. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=go away.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Fausto Machado Tiemann : Concordo com a explicação. Creio que é o equivalente ao nosso: "que concerto, o quê?". Mas talvez esteja mais para "forget it"..

what ...[?] no way

Based on this rap song https://youtu.be/w9oOaWZd3to and the definition from Dicionário Informal:

qual quê: Em Portugal a expressão designa uma negação.
https://www.dicionarioinformal.com.br/qual quê

Note: The suspension points are to be replaced with the nouns (e.g. "concert"). The question mark in brackets is just to show there's an ellipsis.

When the sky gets rosé, what concert[?], no way.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Fausto Machado Tiemann : Acho que cabe o "no way", mas sem "what" antes. "Concert? No way!"

O texto-fonte diz "qual"; portanto uma tradução com "what" seria mais fiel ao original. Veja: https://www.pinterest.com/julieannedy/what-the-heck-no-way/

Mateus Rosé. Drink it easy

Or as the comment so wryly quips "beber em vez de ginásio"
