This is a term in a file for a tool for splints ... I was wondering if there is any specific term it's translated in for my language. I haven't been able to find it yet ... 'ball indentation test' is a known term in other industries and 'ball indentation hardness' is the result most of the times...

Het is natuurlijk lastig om te bepalen welke vertaling hier het best past zonder te weten hoe de term precies in de brontekst wordt gebruikt. En inderdaad, in praktijk kom je de term vooral tegen in de combinaties 'ball indentation test/method' en 'ball indentation hardness'.
Voor nu heb ik 'ball indentation hardness' als bronterm aangehouden, maar zie ook mijn 'reference comment' voor mogelijke andere vertalingen (en bijbehorende verwijzingen).

Ik weet niet precies hoe de term 'ball indentation' in jouw tekst wordt gebruikt (d.w.z. in combinatie met 'test' of 'method' of op zichzelf). Bij een 'ball indentation test' gaat het zo te zien in ieder geval om een test(methode) die gebruikt wordt om de hardheid van kunststoffen te bepalen. In jouw geval (splint/opbeetplaat/occlusale spalk) gaat het dan zeer waarschijnlijk om een kunsthars. De 'ball indentation test' dient dan om te bepalen aan welke maximale occlusale krachten dit materiaal kan worden blootgesteld.
