David Balayla (asker) Apr 5, 2020:
Oh I see, you had already sent the info in your first answer. Many thanks Taña. I'll use the info for my translation. Thanks a lot, David
Lydia De Jorge Apr 4, 2020:
@Asker Taña is 100% correct. You should not translate but rather leave in English with explanation in parenthesis (edades de 10-12 meses).
Taña Dalglish Apr 4, 2020:
New?? I provided the same link at 24 mins. (after you posted) as a reference, so it was posted twice. David, no matter how you want to cut it, the fact is 3rd Foods is a trademark, whether your text has the R or not! The text is clear! Quote: Stage 3: Age 9 to 12 Months
At 9 to 12 months old, babies should be ready for "3" baby foods." I have given you my best proposal and recommendation, which again is leave it in English. You could probably use a TN to explain the meaning. I don't know what more I could advise you!
David Balayla (asker) Apr 4, 2020:
precisely... No, I did not read this new webpage you provide. This is exactly what I meant by 'underlying reason'. Simply: the trademark name does not appear as such in the doc I'm translating (ie there's no 'R'), so I should not translate it as a trademark. I have to go further. I have to under-stand what 'third food' means. This new webpage you provide has been very informative. Many thanks for your help so far.
Taña Dalglish Apr 4, 2020:
@ David Balayla I don't understand your question. You perhaps have not read a reference document already sent: https://www.verywellfamily.com/baby-food-stages-and-steps-26... What underlying reason are you talking about? Further, I proposed an answer which explains: 1st FOODS®
Comienzos Individuales

2nd FOODS™
Creando Variedad

3rd FOODS™
Enseñando Texturas
David Balayla (asker) Apr 4, 2020:
but... aren't these trademarks answering to some underlying reason? 1st food perhaps is the initial, phase 1, food for infants, then 2nd food could be growth food, phase 2, for older children, ...
Taña Dalglish Apr 4, 2020:
1st Foods®, 2nd Foods®, and 3rd Foods® are all registered Trade Marks of Gerber.

Even here, which is from Gerber website in Spanish and being registered Trade Marks, first foods, second foods, third foods are all left in English:

1st FOODS®
Comienzos Individuales

2nd FOODS™
Creando Variedad

3rd FOODS™
Enseñando Texturas

What's the difference between Gerber 1st Foods and 2nd Foods?
Ingredients: Whereas Stage 1 baby foods are made from a single ingredient, Stage 2 baby foods blend two or more ingredients together. They may still have fruits and veggies as the primary ingredient, but Stage 2 foods often incorporate meats, legumes and grains as well.

The popular brand Gerber has registered trademarks for "1st Foods," "2nd Foods," and "3rd Foods." Other brand labels simply use "1," "2," or "3," which some companies use to refer to the age of the baby and others use to define the stage in which the baby is ready for a certain type of food.

Stage 3: Age 9 to 12 Months
At 9 to 12 months old, babies should be ready for "3" baby foods. These foods have more texture and small chunks to encourage chewing.

Examples of stage 3 foods include:

Beech-Nut Naturals Stage 3 Chicken Lasagna
Earth's Best Chunky Orchard Fruit (Chunky Blend)
Gerber 3rd Foods Broccoli & Carrots With Cheese
Heinz Vegetables Beef & Spaghetti (Junior Foods)
These jars of baby food are easy to spot because they are usually bigger than stage 1 and 2 varieties since babies tend to have a bigger appetite by the time they are ready for these foods.

Ojo: The popular brand Gerber has registered trademarks for "1st Foods," "2nd Foods," and "3rd Foods."
