French term

livret de bail

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) civil suit from the DRC
this is used multiple times in a legal proceeding in the DRC. Is it as simple as it sounds : a "lease handbook" or "lease notebook" or could it actually refer to the "lease contract" or "lease agreement"? I've never come across this term in European French contracts/legal proceedings.

One example of use:
"il s'est fait établir un livret de bail pour illustrer son caractère frauduleux."

neutral AllegroTrans : your ref is an EN document and doesn't really support your suggestion: reference needs to be from the underlying (Belgian colonial) legislatiion

leasing manual

"booklet" could be regional, often referring to the brevity, only a few to a dozen pages. In North America we would call all such instructional material "manuals", regardless of size.

for a definition of the "livret de bail", see http://www.droitcongolais.be/Legislation/Droit obligations-c... , article 2, paragraph 11: "livret de bail : document administratif contenant des renseignements sur le bailleur et le preneur ainsi qu’un modèle de contrat de bail ;"

agree Adrian MM. : - as opposed to a private vs. admin. rent book in the UK

agree Daryo : it does sound like a "rent book", but in UK a "rent book" contains ALSO a record of all payments of rent see https://www.lodgersite.com/Rent_Book.pdf // looks more like some kind od "default model for lease agreement"

agree AllegroTrans : It sounds like more than a rent book: more like a document explaining renting law and tenants' rights etc. I am sure asker could find a specimen with a bit of web research and then use this to distil a suitably descriptive term
