Los animales ingresan al cajón de noqueo a través de la manga. Una vez allí, son insensibilizados mediante el uso de un martillo neumático por perno retráctil en un punto imaginario situado justo por encima (aprox. 2 cm) de la intersección de las líneas diagonales entre el centro del ojo y la base de la oreja del lado opuesto.
