Spanish term

LXMU

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Taxation & Customs Honduras
This is in tiny print at the very bottom of a law issued in Honduras. At first I thought it was someone's initials, but I found it at the base of other texts from Honduras. This is all the context I have:

/lxmu actualizada el [date]

Yes Quite possibly a person's initials but could also be a code attached to all documents of this type. I agree with TD and would leave it as is.
Taña Dalglish Jun 18, 2020:
@ Tina Why do you think that "/lmxu" (which, IMO, appears to be initials of the person preparing the document) could be anything else but initials, regardless of how many times you may have found the same letters. Do you have a link then? Personally, I think it is the initials of an official/or preparer of the document and immaterial to the actual translation. Regards.

Have you tried researching websites that explain the Honduras legal system?

neutral philgoddard : This doesn't fit the context, which is a legal document.

I know it's legal, but it may have a link to an online version or other online document.

LXMU

Especially preceded by a "/", it is most probably a system reference to a Linux library and should remain untranslated. Xmu is the X Miscellaneous Utilities Library, and the reference is "lXmu", "lxmu", "LXMU", etc.

neutral philgoddard : Your references are relevant, as they show other examples of this abbreviation in a similar context, but I don't think your interpretation of its meaning is correct.

Hi Phil. Thank you for your input! The references above include legal documents from Honduras where the /LXMU reference does not seem to have any specific legal purpose, which could very well be the case with Tina's document. Cheers!
