Discussion

Mario Freitas Aug 26, 2020:
@ Claus and Douglas Outorgante and Outorgado in Portuguese are equivalent to Grantor and Grantee in English.
Clauwolf Aug 26, 2020:
It is better to be faithfull to the original text, as this is a contract.
Douglas Bissell (asker) Aug 26, 2020:
cut the B***s*** Can't I just say the first party and second party, instead of mentioning the 'representada'?. i.e. payment by the first party to the second party.

...the first party's represented party to the second party's represented party ... is an awful mouthful

obrigado
neutral Mark Robertson : Represented is a past participle. The text requires a noun. You should have posted "represented party". 2. Yes I did. The target term should be in the answer.

This is a party in a power of attorney, in this case, the grantor.

This person grants the power of attorney and is, therefore, represented by the Grantees.

Principal(s); (Fem: Corporate) Clients

Declined
la representada: principal, client, person or company he represents, West's Mex etc. SPA/ AmE business & law dictionary.

If feminine because a company = empresa or sociaedade, then - arguably and controversially amongst translators only - it's OK to pluralise to principals or clients.

The legal convention is to pluralised corporate litigants, namley the claimants / plaintiffs and defendants, despite objections that a company ought to be referred to as 'it': such is the drafting conmvention in the Chancery Division of the London or Manchester High Court only vs. a partnership as 'they' being a collection of individuals.

However, UK judges are not consistent in using singular or plural for corporate litigants, even within the same judg(e)ment: cf. English law reports.
Example sentence:

IATE: intellectual property > research and intellectual property] Council es representado en the represented person
