This is a very special kind of legal procedure. It's not "repaso del caso" or anything like that. What I need it a good translation for a kind of negotiation. The case would involve two parties. One has filed a petition for protection from abuse against the other party. The court wants to see if the two parties can come to an agreement. The petitioner sets forth what he/she is demanding from the respondent, which must include certain protections that will be memorialized in an order. However, there are other things that the respondent might request in the order, such as possession of a house, temporary custody of the children, etc. The purpose of this "case review" is to see if the two parties can come to an agreement. If they do not, but case proceeds to trial.
The two parties are separated, and mediators and attorneys negotiate, going back and forth between the two parties with various conditions and concessions.
The word I usually use for case review in criminal cases is "conferencia predeclaratoria." This is totally different from that. Maybe "proceso de negociacion?" Help!
