As for 'por concurso,' I'd be inclined to use a bit of omission here; including it would result in a certain 'foreignizing' effect, as this type of information is not normally included in CVs or faculty bios (at least not in the US).

: I don't know of any external hire that is not the result of a competitive (selection) process. They all are, hence my suggestion of omission in this case. As for 'director,' I find it odd. Courses don't usually have directors, at least at US universities.

Of course selection is competitive, but this term indicates that there was an examination process that the candidate won. Also, we are not referring to US universities.
