The write-up is about the architecture of a contemporary new building.
“Situé au cœur de la vallée de la chimie lyonnaise, le bâtiment City Light est un véritable signal.”
I’ve considered ‘sign’, ‘landmark’, ‘signal’ and other words and phrases, but they don’t work for various reasons, so I’m thinking ‘...beacon shining...’ works in this context. However I’m wondering if anyone has any other ideas?
The City Light building is a veritable beacon shining in the heart of Lyon's "Chemical Valley".
Just to note, the building has a wave-like facade, hence the architect’s use of the word ‘signal’.

I wonder if you could reconfigure the sentence a little: The undulating City Light building truly acts as a beacon in the … Then you have the concept both of light and its formal reflection in the shape of the building. Unpacking the French ‘pun’, if you like. I imagine if the building is starkly illuminated that it does, in fact, act as a beacon. Is the light constant or does it flash or strobe?

The architect’s name for the building is City Light.
Not sure about your adding 'shining' that is not in the S/T? Seems to me over-translation

It's variously described as City Light and City Lights, but I think the latter makes more sense.
