5 General packaging standards
The following general standards apply:
Depending on its size, the equipment is

• put on pallets or boards
• secured with screws or bolts at the pallet base or the bottom runner against moving or tilting
• attached securely to the wooden bottom with tensioning straps, if necessary
• covered and protected against weather influences with PE foil

The thickness of the squared timber and the boards principally depends on the weight of the equipment. The length, width and height of the equipment must not be greater than the dimensions of the crates, boxes or the wooden bottom (exception: pipe bundles).
