Based on the information gathered during the assessment, it appears
that six months after her physical symptoms of numbness and pain, she
developed some delusions and paranoia; however, she never spontaneously consulted a psychiatrist. On the day of the criminal charges,
after being arrested, she was brought to the Emergency Department of
the local hospital and was kept under an involuntary status and transferred to an acute psychiatric unit.
