Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
THis is a text comparing a set of drawings and a faded tapestry
Que la costura hilada pueda haberse dado a una mano como se da el dibujo, a una mano, a mano, manualmente, no es coincidencia. Dibujar y tejer con las manos, sensibles, del cuerpo. De hecho, se podría decir, ver con las manos.
Thanks

by a hand
I would translate something like this:
"That the woven tapestry was perhaps made by a hand, as the drawing was made by a hand—by hand, manually—is no coincidence. To draw or to weave by hand, with the sense of the hands, with the body. That is, we might say: to see with the hands."

* or maybe literal is better here: "...could have been made by a hand..."

There is perhaps a double meaning I'm missing, as indicated by the post that translates as "made harmoniously." Not sure how you could render that in English, as "made harmoniously" doesn't capture the play on words. But I think "made by a hand, as the drawing was made by a hand" gets at the harmonious connection as much as is possible.

The Spanish equivalent of "made by hand" is "hecho a mano," not "hecho a una mano" (or dado...). The author is being poetic and playing with the phrases "a una mano/ a mano / manualmente."
