German term

zuständig

German to English Other Business/Commerce (general) Letter from Ethics Committee
I am not sure how this term should be understood in this instance:

Geschäfts-Nr.: 20-628-AMG zuständig (Bitte stets angeben!)

This comes from a letter from the Ethikkommission acknowledging receipt of material from the CRO/Sponsor in a clinical trial.
Change log

Discussion

Klaus Beyer Feb 3, 2022:
Re file no.: 20-628 AMG That would be standard business English
philgoddard Feb 3, 2022:
I've changed the subject heading because although the wider context is medicine, this is not medical terminology. You'd be most likely to find it in a business letter.

We wouldn't say "applicable" or "relevant" in English.

Reference no: 20-628-AMG (please quote in all correspondence).

It's possible that AMG is the initials of a person or department, and "zuständig" implies "responsible". But again, you don't need to translate this.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Rama Bhave : Yes, more context is required but given that this is material for a clinical trial, it could be "Gesetz über den Verkehr mit Arzneimitteln (Arzneimittelgesetz - AMG)"

Yes, I hadn't thought of that. But I still disagree with "relevant" and "applicable".
