Livestock / Animal Husbandry / Mexico
Spanish term or phrase: al portero
Incluso mi hermano antes de irse a los Estados Unidos de América nos ayudaba a ir por las vacas al potrero a ordeñarlas para después hacer queso para vender y a realizar la siembra de maíz, y sorgo, lo cual se puede verificar con las autoridades municipales, pues mi hermano incluso cuenta con su fierro ganadero registrado

This text appears in a letter from Mexico. I don't know if it could mean cowshed or barn? Or maybe it's a typo for pastura?

I came across a link to this tweet that seems to use the word similarly:
Has de cuenta tu eres el dueño del portero de vacas 🐮 🐄
-El matadero está lleno 🔪
-No te las compran 🙌🏼
-Tú no puedes mantener las vacas 🤦🏻‍♂️
-Así que les pagas con tal de que se las lleven

...and a link to a post on Trip Advisor that says: Playa Potrero is a small town strung out along the coast. I'm told that in Spanish its name means "a place by the beach where the cows eat." I guess I could go with cowshed, but would like to confirm this meaning if possible.

Thanks in advance

grass fed

Explanation:
Generally, grass fed beef is considered to be a healthier option than grain-fed beef. Pound for pound, it has less total fat, and therefore less calories. ... For example, grass fed beef has as much as five times the amount of omega-3 fatty acids as regular grain fed beef.Sep 30, 2020
