I don't have a particular background for this, beside it's a funeral and the priest is giving a speech about poor work conditions in Italy and I was wondering what's the correct term you would use to talk about casualties or deaths on the workplace.
Would it be correct to say "dead because of work (like generally speaking)" or "dead due to labour"?
I don't know the circumstance that led to this person's death.
Thanks in advance

One possibility.

You could also just say "work-related death", as long as the context is clear in the first place. But I made the answer more specific than that, because one could die, for example, from having a heart attack, like in the case of a lawyer that I know about, because he was under way too much stress, when it came to his work.

Note from asker:
This solution might actually help me solve the problem for good. Work-related death could work. I even thought about it, but I was wondering if there was something more specific. |

death on the job/died on the job
More context is needed.

In tal caso, forse "death on the job" potrebbe andare se puoi usare l'impersonale, quasi a significare "un altro morto sul lavoro". Oppure "he/she died on the job". Non è semplicissimo senza riferimenti e la voce fuori campo confonde ancora di più. :)
Sono comunque entrambe espressioni molto comuni e corrette, vedi tu se si adatta.
Spero ti sia utile

You are right but unfortunately it's a line taken out of context, like a voice in background. |
Ci do un'occhiata. Grazie mille per le dritte :) |

The first thing that occured to me was the UK Fatal Accidents Act 1976 and the way to draft such claims in tort or contract.
